I have had a deeply rewarding career in health care. A Child Life Specialist by training, I have worked with children and adults living with terminal and /or chronic conditions.
In addition to work in hospitals and community organizations in NYC, I have traveled to Africa twice to explore the work of child life programs in hospitals in different cultures. First, to Kenya with Operation Smile and then to Cape Town, South Africa, where I lived for nine weeks, working on the burn and cancer units at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital.
